General Resort Questions
Are Pets Allowed At The Kartrite Resort?
The Kartrite Resort does not allow pets. All unauthorized animals that are found on property will be subject to a $250 cleaning fee.
Please note that service animals are permitted for Kartrite Resort guests! Please refer to the ADA website for questions regarding what constitutes as a service animal. Service animals cannot be left unattended in a guest room and must be providing their service at all times.

Are There ATM's On The Resort?
There are two ATM’s located at The Kartrite. One is located in the main lobby and the other on the first floor.
Are There Charging Stations For My Electric Car?
There are 4 ports at The Kartrite Resort & Indoor Waterpark; two standard chargers and two Tesla chargers. This service is included in your resort fee and are first come, first serve.
Are There Designated Smoking Areas At the Kartrite Resort?
Are There Quiet Hours?
There are! Our guests need their beauty rest and recovery after all this Catskills fun and adventure. Quiet hours are from 9 PM – 8 AM, so please make sure to keep the noise down and use inside voices during those hours! Please call the front desk if you have any concerns and front desk or security will assist you.

How Do I Make Reservations for Dining?
Bixby’s Derby and Harvey’s accepts reservations by visiting OpenTable! For parties over 8 for any restaurant, please contact diningreservations@thekartrite.com. Eat. Eat. Eat. does not require a reservation and Surfside Grille is walk in.
Is There A Dress Code For Kartrite Resort Guests?
Shoes, shirts, and cover-ups for swimsuits are required inside public areas of The Kartrite Resort & Indoor Waterpark! Water shoes are strongly recommended in the Waterpark.
Is There Hiking?
The Kartrite offers five beautiful trails! Take a gentle stroll down our freshly mowed Sullivan Trail; an easy .5-mile hike that wraps around a meadow. For those who are looking for a little more of an adventurous hike, try our Thompson Trail, a 1.9-mile scenic hike over our brook and through the beautiful Catskill woods.

What Are Splash Passes?
Splash passes are The Kartrite’s waterpark admission passes. They can be purchased online HERE.
What Happens if I Lose my Wristband?
If your wristband breaks and is brought to the front desk, we will replace it for you. If your wristband is lost, replacements are $30 +tax for each lost band.

What is a Resort Fee?
A nightly taxable Resort Fee of $59 plus tax includes the following for each suite:
- Select daily activities & crafts
- Wireless internet access
- Waterpark towels
- In-room coffee (Keurig K-cup)
- Electric & Tesla car charging stations
- Self-service washers & dryers
- Access to hiking trails, map and nature guidebook
- Movie nights
- Children’s waterpark life jackets
- Parking
How will I set up my card for hassle-free spending at the resort?
At check-in, we will authorize a credit or debit card to establish charging privileges at the resort. The authorization will include the full amount of room, tax, Resort Fee, and $150 for incidentals per night. If you have pre-paid your room and taxes, the authorization will be for $150 per night only. This authorization allows you to bill restaurant or activity expenses to your guest room.
The authorization will be released at check-out if you do not have any chargeable expenses at the resort. Please note that this is not a charge but rather a holding authorization to verify the limits on the credit or debit card. Upon release of the authorization, your banking institution may require a few days to remove the amount from your pending expenses.
Is there a charge for towels?
Towels will no longer be available at the towel desk for Day Pass holders as of 6/5/24.
- You are more than welcome to bring your own towel, but if you choose not to do so and want to purchase one from the retail shop outside the waterpark, that’s ok too!
- The wristband color will indicate the status of the guest as a Day Pass holder or hotel guest.
What Is The Kartrite's Policy On Wheelchairs, Skateboards, Bikes, Etc?
Wheelchairs and strollers are permitted inside The Kartrite Resort. Skateboards, bicycles (and tricycles), scooters, roller blades, hover boards, and any other forms of wheeled vehicles are not allowed indoors. You can ride them outside and admire the beautiful Catskills Mountains scenery, however!

What Time Do The Fire Pits Open?
Are there any days that The Resort is closed?
Yes, The Resort and Indoor Waterpark are typically closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with some exceptions over the Holiday seasons.
We’re typically open 7 days/week from late June through late August.

Where Do I Fill Out A Report For Lost And Found?
Fill out your information on Chargerback and we will notify you if we find the item(s).
The Kartrite is not responsible for items lost or left behind.

Are There Kosher Options?

Can I cook in my Room?
No. Cooking of any kind is not permitted in the guests rooms or on property. This includes crockpots, grills, flat tops and more.
CAN I HAVE PACKAGES DELIVERED TO THE RESORT?
Do You Have a Shuttle to Resorts World Catskills and The Monster Golf Course?
Yes! Our shuttle runs every day and arrives every 20 minutes from dusk to dawn from April – November.
Does the Kartrite provide donations?
Yes, the Kartrite has been proud to support many nonprofit organizations, public schools, and sports teams across the Northeastern NY. To submit a request for support, please visit donation page.
Does the Kartrite provide group discounts?
Group discounts are based upon availability. A contract is required for group discounts. There is a minimum requirement of 10 rooms to qualify as a group. Other restrictions may apply. If interested please email groups@thekartrite.com to discuss if a discount is available for your dates.
Health & Safety Questions
Do I have to wear a mask?
Masks are not required on property.
Will I receive housekeeping stayover services as a guest?
Traditional stayover service has been discontinued and will only take place on the 3rd night of stayover of 4 nights or more. Suites will be thoroughly cleaned/sanitized between departure and arrival. Should you need any towels or supplies during your visit, please contact the Front Desk and they will be happy to assist you.
Will you have an activities program?
Indoor and outdoor daily Activities are scheduled with reduced capacity and social distancing.
Will restaurants be open?
Yes, most of our dining establishments will be open. Our eateries are seasonal. You can view our dining options HERE.
Are you limiting capacity for dine-in restaurants?
Yes, capacity will be limited inside our restaurants.
Booking/Reservation Questions
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO ADD AN ADDITIONAL WATERPARK PASS FOR MY RESERVATION?
Guests are able to add additional waterpark passes to their room reservation to reach the maximum capacity per room. The cost is $75 per person per night.
Do rooms come with waterpark passes?
What Forms of Payment Do You Accept?
We accept all major Credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express) and Debit cards. We do NOT accept apple pay. As a reminder, we are a cashless property.
If a credit card is your preferred method of payment, a processing surcharge of 3% will be applied to all credit card charges. Debit cards are accepted as an alternative form of payment and will not incur a fee. Please let your front desk agent know at check in if you are using a debit card.
Do I Need A Credit Card On File When Reserving A Room?
That’s correct! We require a credit card on file when making your reservation. This same credit card must be presented with a valid photo ID when you check in. Your card will remain on file and will be authorized for $150 per day. This is strictly a pending charge in case of incidental charges and will be released at check-out. Depending on your bank the release can take up to 7-10 business days. The Kartrite Resort requires the first night’s lodging, taxes, and resort fee to be billed to your credit card when making your reservation, unless your reservation is a pre-paid nonrefundable stay. We are a cashless resort.
Do I Need My ID To Check-In?
Yes, good thinking! An ID is required to check in, so please have yours handy when you arrive at our front desk!
Do You Offer Early Check-In?
Early check-in is available at 12pm for an addition charge of $60 and is based on availability. Please call our front desk at 845.513.8855 to see if early check-in is available.

Do You Require A Deposit?
Yes! The Kartrite Resort requires the first night’s rooms, taxes, and fees to be billed to your credit card when making your reservation.
Please check the Rate Details when booking your reservation as some rate offers require full pre-payment at the time of booking and are non-refundable.
How Old Do I Have To Be To Book A Room?
You must be at least 21 years of age to reserve or check into a room. Identification is required at check-in. Children two and under are free and are not counted in the total room count.
What Are Your Blackout Dates?
During blackout dates, certain discounts, complimentary stays and splash passes, etc are not redeemable. Blackout dates include, but are not limited to, dates of high demand including all major holidays and breaks during the academic year. Blackout dates are subject to change based upon availability and are at the discretion of the resort.
Is There A Fee If I Cancel My Reservation?
Yes, all reservations are subject to a $30.00 + tax processing fee if cancelled outside the rate policy specific to your reservation. If you cancel inside the stated rate policy for your reservation, the entire deposit will be forfeited. Certain rate plans, promotions, and packages may be nonrefundable and/or nontransferable. Please pay close attention to the rate policy, along with terms and conditions, for any specific cancellation rules prior to booking. View our Reservation Policies.
For reservations staying between September 25 – December 15, 2024:
We’re pleased to offer free cancellations up until 5:00 PM, three days prior to your arrival. This flexibility allows you to adjust your plans without any worries. If you need to cancel after this time, a one-night charge, including room rate, tax, and resort fee, will apply. This charge is equal to the deposit you’ve kindly provided upon booking.
Is There A Fee If I Need To Change My Reservation Dates?
Nope! You will not be charged a fee for changing reservation dates as long as it is 72 hours in advance. Please note that we cannot guarantee your rate will stay the same, as this is dependent on your new reservation. Cancellation policies for packages and specials may vary.
Is There Luggage Assistance?
Of course, The Kartrite bell staff is ready to assist you upon arrival. There is no luggage assistance after 8pm. We do not have valet service.
What Is An Acceptable ID?
A valid government issued photo ID is required to check in!
What Time Is Check-In and Check-Out?
Check-in: Starts at 4:00pm. You can use the waterpark and amenities starting at 11am day of check-in. Early arrivals have full access to The Kartrite which includes dining, indoor fun, activities, entertainment and last but certainly not least, the waterpark!
Check Out: Is at 11:00am. Check out will automatically occur at 11am unless you purchased late check out. Checking-out does not mean you have to leave. After check-out, stay and have a full day of splashtastic-fun. Guests have full access to the park and all the activities inside The Kartrite Resort and Indoor Waterpark for the remainder of the day!

at What Age DO Kids Need a Wristband?
Children 3 years and above require wristbands to access the waterpark. Ages 2 and below do not need wristbands.
Are There Cribs to Reserve for the Night?
Yes! Pack and Plays are available for $25 +tax per stay and should be reserved upon booking. Pack and Plays are limited and based on availability.
Can I use the waterpark at any time during my stay, and what happens if it is closed on my departure day?
Is candle lighting allowed in the resort or guest rooms?
Indoor Waterpark Questions
Are Towels & Lockers Provided?
The Kartrite Resort & Indoor Waterpark provides towels for all hotel guests! Towels will no longer be available at the towel desk for day splash holders as of 6/5/24. We also offer waterpark lockers of varying sizes for a small fee (small: $15, medium: $20, large: $25). Lockers can be reserved with a credit card only.
If you are only spending the day, you are welcome to bring towels, but if you choose not to do so and want to purchase one of ours that’s ok too! Please visit the retail shop outside the waterpark to purchase a towel.

Does The Waterpark Close Due To Inclement Weather?

Can We Bring Balloons Into the Waterpark or Cabanas?
Nope! For the safety of guests, balloons are not allowed anywhere in the Waterpark.
Is There An Age Requirement For Mezzanine Access In The Waterpark?
There is no age requirement for mezzanine access.
