Our Story

History

Originally known as “The Ideal House” – the Concord Resort Hotel was officially established in 1937. Over the years, it grew into a famous Catskills hub, hosting top performers such as Tony Bennett, Barbra Streisand, Aretha Franklin, and Fleetwood Mac.

The resort also welcomed prominent historical figures, including Muhammad Ali. Notably, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered a major address at the Concord on March 25, 1968, just 10 days before his assassination.

After the Concord closed its doors in 1998, a portion of this iconic land was acquired for redevelopment. Today, it is home to what is now, us – The Kartrite Resort & Indoor Waterpark, which opened in April 2019. Managed by HEI Hotels & Resorts & Owned by HotelAVE.

Discover The Kartrite

Nestled in the heart of New York’s Catskills, The Kartrite is a destination designed to bring people together — for adventure, relaxation, celebration, and everything in between.

At the center of the experience is our expansive indoor waterpark, offering year-round fun regardless of the weather. From thrilling slides and water attractions to pools and spaces designed for younger guests, the waterpark is just the beginning of the adventure.

Beyond the water, The Kartrite gives guests an entire resort to explore. Families can challenge each other in the arcade, get outside and experience the natural beauty of the Catskills, enjoy resort activities and seasonal events, or simply slow down and spend time together. With a variety of dining experiences throughout the resort, there is always another meal, activity, or experience waiting around the corner.

And when the day winds down, guests have room to spread out. Spacious accommodations give families and groups the comfort and space they need to make The Kartrite feel like a true getaway, not simply a place to sleep between activities.

But The Kartrite isn’t only for family vacations.

The resort is also a destination for corporate meetings, conferences, retreats, weddings, celebrations, reunions, and social events. With meeting and event spaces, dining options, accommodations, activities, and entertainment all in one destination, groups can create experiences that go well beyond a traditional meeting or event.

That’s what makes The Kartrite different.

It’s where a waterpark becomes a getaway. Where an event becomes an experience. Where a meeting can turn into an adventure. And where time together becomes the reason to come.

Whether you’re planning a family vacation, a weekend in the Catskills, a corporate retreat, or a milestone celebration, The Kartrite brings everything together under one roof, with adventure at the center of it all.
