Why We Were Nominated

Tucked into New York’s Sullivan Catskills, The Kartrite was built to give families a different kind of adventure. Inside, New York’s largest indoor waterpark keeps it summer all year long, with two acres of slides, rides, a lazy river and splash zones for the littlest swimmers. When it’s time to dry off, guests settle into one of our 324 spacious suites, explore the family entertainment center, and gather around the table at our on-site restaurants and bars — all surrounded by the mountains, trails and fresh air that make the Catskills so special.

But the real reason we’re on this list is our guests and team. Every birthday weekend, first-slide-down moment and family reunion here helps shape who we are.

The World’s Best Awards are a reader survey — no panels, no paid placement. Travelers rate the hotels, resorts and destinations they’ve personally experienced, and the results are published each August in Travel + Leisure. A strong showing puts the Catskills and The Kartrite in front of travelers around the world, and it’s a meaningful thank-you to the team who makes every stay memorable.

3. Select United States as a region you’ve visited, then New York
4. Find The Kartrite Resort & Indoor Waterpark and rate your stay
5. Submit — that’s it!

Voting is open through February 22, 2027. Only stays from the past three years count.
